A very interesting concept using the combination of recycled timber and bricks including a covered walk-way with a curved tray roof over a merbau deck.

Proficient use of recycled bridge timbers gives a warm robust feel leading into the home. The concrete polished slab lends further to the energy mass of the building.

BEST renovation & addition $500,001 - $750,000

Overall finish and workmanship is of a high standard. The detailing to the east facing deck shows these guys knew their trade and are keen to show off their skills. There is a good use of the diving door to the living areas and the ray roof system with stainless steel box gutters are well executed.

This project is a very successful seamless renovation, finding it very difficult to decipher the old from the new.

‘The Rift’ is a landmark Bowral home with great heritage significance.  After years of disrepair due to the enormity of the task, this project saw a complete restoration including six bedrooms, three bathrooms, dining room, living rooms, huge gallery style kitchen and basement with a billiards room. Antique features were used extensively bringing challenges to the carpenters and trades people. The judges said it was a superb result!

contract houses $500,000 - $650,000

This well designed contemporary home is connected by over-lapping pavilions which break the scale of the built form. All are covered by an exceptionally curved double corrugated insulated iron roof which allows for large spans without roof framing.  Internal finishes are superb.  A most deserving winner.
